DEA in Sociology. PhD in History in 1998. Doctoral studies in Political Sciences at the Eötvös Loránd University.

Professor Botos is a member of the Hungarian Historical Association, of the Hungarian Political Sciences Association. He is also member of the scientific committee of REGIMEN group, presided by Yves Palau and Pierre Vercauteren.

Since the 1st of July 2009, he is the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities.
